How it works
The Kiosk application facilitates guest Wi-Fi access through a three-step process:
-
Code Generation:
-
Visitors interact with a dedicated "Kiosk page" displayed on a shared device (e.g., tablet, touchscreen).
-
Upon registration, an access code is generated and delivered to the visitor via email and/or SMS.
-
-
Network Connection:
-
Visitors connect to the designated guest Wi-Fi network.
-
-
Authentication:
-
Visitors are redirected to the Splash Portal, where they enter their personal access code to gain Internet access.
-
Kiosk page
The Kiosk page URL follows the format:https://kiosk.cloud4wi.com?id=XXXXXXXXXXXX
where XXXXXXXXXXXX is a unique identifier for each location.
Organizations can personalize the Kiosk page with custom text, background images, and CSS styling. Currently, customization is applied at the organization level and cannot be configured per location.
Cloud4Wi Admin Panel configuration
To enable and utilize the Kiosk feature, the following configurations are required in the Cloud4Wi Admin Panel:
1. Configuring the "Kiosk" Application
The Kiosk application is configured at the Organization level.
-
Navigate to Guest Wi-Fi on the left-side toolbar, or find it in the Marketplace under Manage → Apps within the Guest Wi-Fi tab.
The Kiosk configuration page includes:

2. Enabling the Splash Portal to Accept Access Codes
The Splash Portal must be configured to accept one-time passwords for authentication.
-
Go to Guest Wi-Fi → Login profiles.
-
Open your active login profile.
-
Navigate to the Sign-up tab, and find the Kiosk section.
-
Set the One Time Password Login option to "Enabled".
Enabling this option will display the input field for the access code on your Splash Portal.
In the Login Profile's Kiosk section, two additional settings can be configured as options:
-
Sponsor notification via email
-
Sponsor notification via text message
If either of these sponsor notification options is enabled, users registering through the Kiosk will be required to enter the name of a sponsor in a dedicated input field.
As the user types, an autocomplete feature will assist by suggesting names from your pre-configured sponsors (found under Guest Wi-Fi > Sponsors). After entering the sponsor's name, the user will receive their OTP. The selected sponsor will not need to approve the access but will receive a notification via email or text message, depending on the chosen setting.
