The term Provisioning refers to the method used to assign a Time Policy to an end-user.
It is worth noting that Time Policies are not a strict requirement: if Group Policies are enabled, you can create user groups without assigning any Time Policy limit at all.
When Time Policies are utilized, there are three available provisioning modes:
Auto-Provisioning
Self-Provisioning
Assisted Provisioning
Auto-Provisioning (Default Time Policy)
In Auto-Provisioning mode, a Default Profile is applied directly to the Location. Consequently, all new end-users registering at that Location automatically receive the default Time Policy, eliminating the need for manual administrative assignment or user requests.
Any available Time Policy can be set as the Default Profile, regardless of its type. During registration, if the policy is configured for restricted access, the end-user will be redirected to a page within the Splash Page prompting them for an Access Code.
Once the Time Policy has been fully consumed, the end-user is redirected to a page within the Splash Page where they can select a new policy (switching to Self-Provisioning).
Self-Provisioning
Self-Provisioning mode allows end-users to autonomously select their preferred Time Policy directly from the Splash Page. End-users are prompted to choose a policy in the following scenarios:
When the account is configured for restricted access, and no Default Profile has been assigned to the Location (meaning Auto-Provisioning is disabled).
When the end-user does not have any valid or active Time Policies currently assigned.
Self-Provisioning can be enabled for any existing Time Policy. When active, these policies will be displayed as available choices to the end-user during the provisioning process in the scenarios described above.
Assisted Provisioning
In Assisted Provisioning mode, a Location Manager manually assigns a Time Policy to an end-user via the Users section of the Cloud4Wi Dashboard. For support and maintenance purposes, an Organization Manager can also perform this action by navigating down to the Location level.
