Note: We are transitioning our terminology from Internet Plans to Time Policies. You may see both terms used interchangeably while we gradually update our documentation.
1. Setting a Location's Default Time Policy
Organization Managers and Location Managers can set a fallback policy at the location level. This policy applies to users who inherit settings from where they signed up.
For Organization Managers:
Navigate to Manage → Locations.
Select your desired location.
Go to Time Policies → Default Time Policy.
Choose the plan you want to set as the default.
Click Save (Note: The Save button appears only when a new policy is selected).
For Location Managers:
Provided you have the required rights to edit and create policies:
Navigate to Guest Wi-Fi → Time Policies → Default Time Policy.
Choose the plan you want to set as the default.
Click Save (Note: The Save button appears only when a new policy is selected).
2. How User Time Policies are Determined
User profiles are automatically created for end-users when they sign up to access the internet. However, an end-user's actual time restrictions and access are ultimately determined by the Group Policy assigned to their specific User profile.
Within the Group Policy configuration, you have flexibility in how time restrictions are enforced:
Custom Group Restrictions: You can define specific time limits directly within the Group Policy.
Location Inheritance: Alternatively, you can configure the Group Policy to let the user inherit the Time Policy from the Default Time Policy configured at the specific Location where the user originally signed up.
